There is a shady road in the woods leading to Villa Vedetta from Scarlino. The Poggio La Forcola, 150 metres above sea level, offers a spectacular view of the entire area. Only 4 kilometres from the medieval village of Scarlino, the hillock overlooks the Gulf of Follonica with its long sandy beaches and evocative inlets. That’s not all. Punta Ala is 20 kilometres away. It is only a 40-kilometre drive to Piombino where a ferry to the Island of Elba awaits you. This island has always been synonymous with flourishing nature and unpolluted sea. The Medieval Village of Massa Marittima is nearby and you will be enchanted by its Piazza, considered to be one of the most beautiful in Italy. Its narrow roads are filled with typical restaurants and taverns as well as boutiques featuring handcrafts created by local artisans.
