Welcome to the heart of the Maremma area, a stone’s throw from the shores of Castiglione della Pescaia and Punta Ala. It is here that you will find the Caldana holiday farm ready to welcome you, delighting you with vineyards and rolling hills and refreshing you with its pool immersed in the greenery. The Etruscan civilization colonized this area of Maremma centuries before the Romans did and left an indelible mark.

The holiday farm is located at the foot of the hamlet of Caldana, part of the township of Gavorrano at 60 metres above sea level. You will be pleasantly refreshed by the sea breeze blowing in from the gulf of Follonica. We are easy to reach, only a few hundred metres from the state road Aurelia, and will welcome you and help you completely savour this territory so full of many flavours and colours.

A small museum of ancient tools that have been painstakingly collected by the family of owners is located on the property.

The Caldana holiday farm is a small facility consisting of eight comfortable flats that sleep a total of 24. Our comfortable and practical accommodations are virtually new since we have only been open a few years. Come visit us: you will find a completely furnished flat with a bright and spacious living area, kitchenette and bedroom.

You can satisfy your every whim cooking whatever you like or savouring a delicious steak grilled on the barbecue at your disposal or simply enjoy the warm days and cool evenings. Our flats all come with air-conditioning, telephone and satellite television. Other common areas – besides the barbecue area – are the laundry room and car park (inside the facility and covered).

The kitchen in our flats is fully furnished and functional, equipped with a 4-burner cooker, multi-functional oven and refrigerator-freezer.

 The facility:

The holiday farm is made up of three buildings: 2 with a façade in stone obtained locally and 1 in yellow stucco.

The “Sangiovese” and “Trebbiano” flats are located in the large stone farmhouse: spacious 4-room flats that can accomodate large famiglie that sleep 6. They include kitchen, living room, bath and two bedrooms.

The “Colorino”, “Malvasia”, “Aleatico”, “Lanaiolo” and “Verdello” flats are located in the other large building in stucco, all of which are 3-room flats made up of a large living area with kitchen, bath, master bedroom and another single or double bedroom.

There is a small former bakery that has been converted into a 2-room flat situated between the two buildings (“Ciliegiolo”) made up of a kitchen, bath and master bedroom.

 “Sangiovese” flat:

Identical to the “Trebbiano”, it is a comfortable and spacious 4-room flat suitable to a family holiday, a group of friends or two couples who wish to spend their vacation in a relaxing and easy environment. A roomy living area that connects to the large kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms are at our guests’ disposal. One bedroom is a master bedroom (an additional bed can be put in there) and the other bedroom can accommodate three twin beds. There is a private area next to the flat suitable for meals outdoors. 

  “Ciliegiolo” flat:

Resulting from the conversion of the estate’s former bakery, this 2-room flat is completely independent from the others. A kitchen area, bath and master bedroom is at the guests’ disposal. There is also a private outdoor area,  ideal for outdoor meals.

 “Colorino” flat:

is a comfortable 3-room flat located on the first floor, suitable for a family, a group of friends or two couples that would like to spend a  holiday together in a comfortable flat. A living area, kitchen, bath and two bedrooms: one master bedroom and another that can accommodate 2 single beds are at our guests’ disposal.

 “Malvasia” flat:

is a comfortable 3-room flat on the first floor suitable for a family holiday or for a couple. A living area and kitchen, a bath and two bedrooms, one of which is a master bedroom and the other a single, are at the disposal of our guests.

 “Aleatico” flat:

is a comfortable flat located on the first floor, suitable for a family holiday, a group of friends or two couples who would like to spend a vacation together in a comfortable flat.  A living area and kitchen, a bath and two bedrooms, one of which is a master bedroom and the other can accommodate two twin beds are at our guests’ disposal.

 “Lanaiolo” flat:

is a comfortable 3-room flat located on the ground floor suitable for a family holiday, a group of friends or two couples who would like to spend a vacation together in a comfortable flat. A living area and kitchen, a bath and two bedrooms, one of which is a master bedroom and the other can accommodate two twin beds are at our guests’ disposal..

 “Verdello” flat:

is a comfortable 3-room flat located on the ground floor suitable to a family or a couple. A living area and kitchen, a bath and two bedrooms, one of which is a master bedroom and the other a single, are at our guests’ disposal.

How to get here:

From the North, South and Siena:

Get on the superstrada SS1 (Aurelia) continuing to km 214 at the Gavorrano Scalo exit (not to be confused with the Gavorrano exit).

Follow towards Ravi-Caldana. After 5 km, turn onto Caldana.

Follow directions, continuing another 200 metres, turn right and you will be welcomed at the Agriturismo Caldana.
